Commission launches public consultation on proposed revision of the Aviation Guidelines

Today, the European Commission (Commission) has published a public consultation inviting Interested parties to submit comments on the revision of the 2014 Guidelines on State aid to airports and airlines (“the Aviation Guidelines”). These guidelines clarify the conditions that must be fulfilled for state aid in the aviation sector to be considered compatible with the internal market.

Under the current guidelines, operating aid can be granted to regional airports until April 2027. The Commission plans to review the Aviation Guidelines in light of sector developments and regarding the need to adjust the rules to support the green and digital transitions.

The Commission invites stakeholders to provide input to shape the updated rules until 5 March 2025. Clayton & Segura can help you filling in this questionnaire to make your voice heard.
